How does Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake choose families for houses?

Our goal is to enter into partnership with families currently living in in inadequate housing, who wish to own a home of their own. 

The three primary qualifications for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake are the following:

  • NEED – CURRENTLY LIVING IN INADEQUATE HOUSING (Unsafe, overcrowded, temporary)
  • AREA – HAVE LIVED IN THE MOSES LAKE SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR AT LEAST 1 YEAR
  • ABILITY TO PAY – EARN BETWEEN 30% – 60% OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME FOR GRANT COUNTY
  • WILLINGNESS TO PARTNER – MINIMUM OF 400 HOURS OF “SWEAT EQUITY” AND WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE
  • CREDIT WORTHINESS – NO LATE PAYMENTS FOR PAST SIX MONTHS. BANKRUPTCIES, LIENS, COLLECTIONS OR JUDGEMENTS MUST BE SATISFIED BEFORE PURCHASING A HABITAT HOME.
