APPLY FOR HOUSING
How does Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake choose families for houses?
Our goal is to enter into partnership with families currently living in in inadequate housing, who wish to own a home of their own. The Habitat family purchase their homes at cost directly from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake with no profit, no interest loans.
The three primary qualifications for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake are the following:
• NEED, The family is now living in inadequate housing and has an income that falls between 40% of the Grant County median income.
• ABILITY TO PAY, The family must have resources to repay the zero percent interest Habitat loan and other homeownership costs.
• WILLINGNESS TO PARTNER, The family needs to be willing to commit to 450 hours of “sweat equity” and to be a part of the Habitat family.
The income level that qualifies you for a Habitat home is maximum 60% of the current Grant County median income level. (Information comes from HUD.) Your total family income and family size is what is used to determine eligibility. Qualifying families must live in the Moses Lake School District.
