Tree Decór Criteria

On behalf of Habit for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake, we would like to thank you for considering being a part of this year’s Festival of Trees Auction.  The generous donations of decorated trees are the primary items that make our Festival of Trees event such a success each year.

We strive to have creatively decorated trees to make the live auction a success.  In doing so, we have a few suggested guidelines that we would like you to consider as you decorate your tree.

  • We value your creativity and passion!  Our hope is that each tree will generate $500 – $1,000 (or more!)
  • We suggest between 800 to 1,000 lights per tree.
  • Trees should have a skirt and a tree top.
  • All trees need to be decorated completely on all sides.
  • It is a nice touch for trees to have items under it.
  • All ornaments must be wired on to the tree for easy delivery.
  • The tree “theme,” title and written description is required.
  • A written description and title of your tree must be received by the Festival of Trees Committee no later than November 1st.
    • Be sure to include the “Decorated by” and “Donated by” name(s).
  • The provided live trees will come in different varieties (noble, fir, spruce, etc.) and sizes.
  • Tree placement and size will be assigned by the Festival of Trees Committee members.
  • Trees will be ready to decorate on Friday, November 25 after 5:00 p.m. at the Big Bend Community College ATEC building.
  • The ATEC building will be open again at 8:00 on Saturday morning to do any further decorating.  The trees must be finished by noon on the 26th and decorators/donors out of the building by noon (due to the caterers needs).

If you have any questions, please contact Sally Voight of the Festival of Trees Committee by calling 765-4030.  We appreciate your contribution, which will help us achieve our goal of eliminating poverty housing in Moses Lake and worldwide!
